Mobile intervention unit

The mobile intervention unit will be traveling through the southwest borough and Verdun, reaching areas regularly frequented by people experiencing homelessness. The team will engage in distribution, exchange of prevention materials, and provide training in the administration of naloxone for individuals who use drugs. The intervention team in the mobile unit aims to establish connections with the people they encounter, raising awareness about overdose prevention and referring individuals to our overdose prevention team at the day center.

The mobile unit will also provide individuals with the opportunity to warm up, enjoy hot beverages, snacks, and receive essential survival gear. Relationships will be established in their living spaces, on their terms, through the distribution of survival gear, naloxone, and prevention materials. Our intervention workers will offer support and accompaniment to the individuals they encounter.
In addition to providing support to extremely vulnerable individuals experiencing homelessness, the mobile unit will guide and accompany people to emergency shelters or other services to prevent frostbite and deadly hypothermia during the winter months.

The mobile unit operates from 3 pm to 11 pm. For any inquiries, please feel free to call us at 514-704-5973 or email us at mobile@lamaisonbenoitlabre.org.
