Meal Teams

CARING PEOPLE WANT TO HELP THE POOR IN A SPECIFIC WAY, BUT OFTEN DO NOT KNOW WHERE TO START !

Benedict Labre House acknowledges that you may want to help the needy in our community, but perhaps you do not know how to get started. We provide opportunities for individuals and groups to help the poor on a practical level, by cooking and serving a hot meal for the homeless.

Each week, volunteers help us provide over 800 hot meals to men and women.

If you would like to support our work, you can organize a Meal Team to serve at Benedict Labre House.

Here’s what we need to do ...

• Find several friends or parishioners who would like to join you in caring for the poor. (Six to eight individuals is ideal)
• Book a date to bring your team to Benedict Labre House.
• Plan a simple menu and purchase the needed ingredients. (Spaghetti, Shepherd’s Pie, Casseroles, etc.)
• Cook and bring your food to Benedict Labre House ... or make it in our kitchen!
• Set tables, serve and assist in clean-up for the scheduled meal.
• Enjoy serving the guests!
• Book another date for your Meal Team!
